Dominions are essentially a type of satellite, so would it not make more sense to have the page named "satellite"? ~ Meneth (talk) 16:52, 27 April 2013 (CEST)

The old wiki says that dominions have a full alliance, i.e. they can be called into offensive wars, while regular satellites can only be called into defensive wars. That would make them different entities, so I think treating them differently makes sense. There are also separate internal commands for creating dominions and satellites. I don't know whether there are more differences. Kimberly (talk) 17:03, 27 April 2013 (CEST)
Vassals (both satellites and dominions) can to my knowledge be called into any war, and will always accept. And the old wiki's distinction is AFAIK from before Heart of Darkness, which introduced the current dominion mechanic. The only difference now to my knowledge is how they're created. ~ Meneth (talk) 17:06, 27 April 2013 (CEST)
If that is true, then I'd agree we should just call the article "satellites". We should check to see whether that's the case, though. Kimberly (talk) 17:17, 27 April 2013 (CEST)
Indeed. I can't really check as I don't yet have Heart of Darkness though. ~ Meneth (talk) 17:18, 27 April 2013 (CEST)
I believe the old wiki is wrong, and there has never been any gameplay distinction between satellites and dominions. --Cymsdale (talk) 17:44, 27 April 2013 (CEST)
