Talk:Budget

From Victoria 2 Wiki

But why you deleted my changes, General: This section is not the total production value of every precious metal producing province in the nation, only part of this goes to country's budget (20% in early game). Rest is going to RGO workers and aristocrats.

--Nashetovich (talk) 13:25, 7 September 2013 (CEST)

Because it's calculated differantly, the gold income for the government (GI) is determined by 2 factors, the production (Q) and the GOLD_TO_CASH_RATE (GC).
GI=QxGC the GOLD_TO_CASH_RATE is 1.5 for AHD and 0.5 for HoD.
I do understand how you think it's 20% though, for the game shows an amount of cash in the province screen.
That amount is determined by Q and the price of 1 amount of the product (7.5 for gold).
7.5=5x1.5 thus resulting in the 20%, try changing the GOLD_TO_CASH_RATE and the gold price if you dont believe me. --General WVPM (talk) 19:07, 7 September 2013 (CEST)
I got idea, thanks, GI not depend on gold price. So POPs gets Q * GoldPrice * GOLD_TO_WORKER_PAY_RATE (-taxes), right? I interested it in because I want to interpret savegame data correctly. --Nashetovich (talk) 20:43, 7 September 2013 (CEST)
Now it's getting interesting, I did some research on that but didn't figure it out yet.
I runned some tested with my mod of AHD and results are below, might help you. --General WVPM (talk) 23:28, 7 September 2013 (CEST)
I found out I made a mistake and didn't remove all aristocrats messing with the results. After further testing it turns out POPs indeed get Q * GoldPrice * GOLD_TO_WORKER_PAY_RATE.
Im not sure how aristocrats fit in though...
Did extra tests showing unexpected results (see below) --General WVPM (talk) 19:48, 9 September 2013 (CEST)
Thanks --Nashetovich (talk) 18:49, 10 September 2013 (CEST)
The ingame value is always a tiny bit lower though (less than 0.05%) May be rounding errors? If you need it, in save game you can see gold pay for workers with much higher precision. (x1000 or more, I forget)

did some tests with savegame data, but made less sense to me.
stupid aristocrats make it way harder.
hope you (or anyone else interested) might be able to find out.
